I think my pekin is afraid of the mirror.

I found 6 weeks ago 2 pekin duckling. One died 1 or 2 days after. I thought that the second will died too. So I have gave him a unicorn/ dog looking stuff animal. Yesterday I bought a mirror, place it in his “coop” he/she got scared and dont like passing near the mirror. In a few months I will find another duck. Any suggestion so he/she can be happy.

Give him time to get used to seeing another duck in with him/her.

be careful with him and the mirror! he could become attached and think that his reflection is a real duck & he could think that the duck is a mate or partner. it’ll be hard to separate him and the mirror if that happens, he’ll also get depressed because he cant mate or be as close to his reflection as he would be to his partner & because she wont go with him anywhere

Never had one do what you are describing actually I have a mirror on the wall in my coop so they can admire themselves when ever they want.

actually the only reason that vampires couldnt see their reflection was because there used to be silver behind the glass! now they can see themselves since it’s usually metal or plastic behind it
