I think my RIR is trying to lay? I think anyway.

She's out there hooting and hollering like nobodies business. She's very loud. So I'm all like trying to put her in the nest box and she won't have anything to do with it. She's pacing all over the place, not even looking for a nesting spot. Looks like she's just gonna lay where ever at this point. Her booty is pulsing in and out, and out of curiosity I took a peek at her lady parts and sure enough it was opened up quite a bit. I hope i didn't stall the process. I feel so bad for her. She's gotta be in pain. She's just gotta. I wish there was something I could do for her. Is she going to go on like this for a while or what? Should it pop out anytime today? I'm going back out there, I'll keep you updated.

When my RIR girls first started to lay it seemed like it took hours before they got that first egg out. They would settle down in a spot and then pace for a while, like you're talking about. The best thing you could do for her right now is leave her alone and let her do her business.

Well, i was all excited about how her lady parts looked, well the other gal has the same looking part sooooo I guess I'll just wait here in anticipation. Ummm I never looked under my hens pants before until just a few minutes ago. Bleah! I won't be doing that again unless it's an emergency.
