I think She is a HE!!

I think one of my 61/2 week old chicks is a Roo! It is making a sound now that sounds like its trying to crow. I was not planning on having any roosters and dont now what I should do. If I keep him do I need to keep him seperate from the hens? Would he be helpful in protecting the girls? Anything I should know would be helpful. Is there any chance I'm missreading the attempted crowing sound for a change to a "cluck"?

My rooster never tried to crow -- one day he just did it! But by that time I knew he was a he, since he had a huge comb and was twice as big as everyone else.

I wasn't planning on having a rooster either, but I really like mine now. He doesn't crow too much, a few times in the morning and later when the girls wander too far. He's wonderful at keeping them safe.

Mine's a little bit aggressive and will chase my kids, but if you turn on him and try to pick him up, he'll just run away.
