I had 10 Prairie Blue Bell Chickens at 9 weeks ready for their playpen in the coop one week ago and added them to their playpen. I check on my girls twice a day, sometimes more, we are outside often. I have three Golden Comet girls who are two and a half years old, 2 Starlight Green Eggers, 2 Barred Rocks, and 1 Bluff Orpington, who are not a year yet. I saw red dots on my Buff Orpington comb today. I started looking at all the girls; they all had the sours on the combs. I had seen the tiniest white speckles after the hard freeze and thought it was due to the weather. Were the white speckles a sign?
Could the Prairie Blue Bell's been a carrier? If not, will they get it?
What do I do? Looking for some help.

Good morning!
Thanks for responding yesterday. When I got home they had roosted for the night. I am attaching some pictures. Yesterday the spots were red today they are blackish brown. After looking over my girls it seems it is only these girls. My sweetest and meanest.
Thank you for any advice.

Looks like scabs from picking and squabbling. Could be a few from rubbing along fencing or something like that.

How much coop/run space do they have (sqft)?

Even with generous coop/run space you can end up with some scabbed up combs now and again depending on the hens and how well they get along.

The run is 8ft. x 8ft., the coop is 4ft x 7ft. They have a 2/3 of an acre when they are out of the run.
My older hen are not the nicest to my younger hens. Maybe I need to get a timeout kennel for Betty and Suzzie in the run?
