Hi.
smile.png
I made a board about this little chicky a week or two ago but I think gender was too early to tell. S/he is older and I think I should be able to get the gender of her/him. Someone told me s/he thought s/he was a pullet. And I thought so too. But now its comb is getting bigger and pinker and I see wattles growing. Please help. This chick is my all time FAVORITE and it's the only chick I have that likes to be held. Actually prefers to be held! I can't keep roos.

It's behavior as a chick seemed maybe a bit rooish. I saw it doing the chest bumping thing a little bit. As it got older though it stopped. It got a lot sweeter and now EVERYONE picks on it. (all the chicks) The banty has 9 silkie "siblings" that I all hatched at the same time and they've been together since day one. The silkies keep pecking at her/him. A lot it seems.

Her/his chirp seems very high pitched and just.. CUTE!

Sorry it's blurry but I thought it would be nice to see the wattles.

If it makes you feel better, I was thinking girl... But I am usually wrong. Out of about 100 guesses, maybe 10 were right.

So everyone bets against me now.

Okay... thanks for the replies everyone...

Just wondering. What makes everyone think it's a cockerel? How red the comb is?

Is there any chance at all that my baby is a pullet?

Thanks Chickie Mama.

What makes you say pullet? I thought pullet because I thought cochin cockerels would have bigger combs and wattles than that but.. guess not.

Oh man.
