I think this is a bantam cochin. Gender? *LOTS of pics*

Even at 5 weeks that chick has a lot of growing to do, especially for the comb and wattles.

Cochins should be wide and round looking with "fat" legs for lack of a better term, fluffy looking, but not like a silky type fluffy.

I agree it's a roo, and am not sure on the cochin, I would actually guess a cross because of it's build, but it might just be in it's gangly teenage stage! Sometimes they just need more growing.

Big red comb and wattles leave no chance to deny it... it's a bouncing baby boy! Looks like my splash cochin babies, very cute. Mine were boys too, and I was sure disappointed. I wanted a splash pullet.

Looks like a hatchery bantam cochin. Mine have been gangly like that too. I think they're beautiful when grown, and mine have filled out nicely.

In the second set of pics you posted... how old was it? Those were the pics I was going by as I thought they were more recent. Comb was not as red, but if it was really young then thats the reason. From the blurry pic, I would say roo (nice set of wattles). Sorry, I tried

Actually I got the eggs from someone that lived close by. I asked for silkie eggs but this one was randomly there. It might be part silkie, well it *should* be but everyone said it was probably not part silkie at all. He is very fluffy I thought. Cute. He'll make someone a very happy chicken parent..

Lol and thanks for trying Chickie Mama. The last set of pics I took yesterday. He is five weeks old today.
