This chicken was born just before easter... so that makes it...12 weeks old? We call 'her' big momma. But she is the biggest out of all my chickens. I don't know if she is just big for her breed ( what is that by the way?) or if she is a he. This one deffinatley rules the roost. But I don't know if that is because of being a roo or just being head hen...

Here is another shot.

this is a bantam girl. any guesses what she is? She has feathers on her outside toes. We call her Chicken Jane

Also this black bantam She and the one above are about 10 weeks old.

chicken Jane with Big Momma on her heels. Check out the size difference!!

woops! I guess I should have told you WICH chicken i wanted a gender check on... the big white one!

Check to see if Big Mama has spurs, I have been able to find the gender for sure this way. Good Luck. I have a RIR that I wasn't sure of, I got a web address of a film of how to tell Gender and lo and behold Big Red is a hen. I wish I had saved he address, however if you ask on BYC maybe some one will post it again. Good Luck

The big white one is a golden comet roo - his ladies (mostly red) are also golden comets (pullets).

The black bantam looks like it may be a cochin.

Not sure on the columbian buff colored bantam.

eta - golden comets could be considered mutts - they are intentional ones, though - bred for egg laying.
