I keep the chicks in the room where my computer and other "toys" are kept. Last tuesday evening I was in the room and heard what sounded like a chick choking, several times.
These chicks are only 2 1/2 weeks old and my first experience at raising chicks, I panicked. I sat and watched the brooder for a while --- then I saw it!! A black japanese bantam, that has begun to look like a rooster--was crowing!!!!
Boy, he struts around "look at me style" and every so often throws that head back and out comes this TRILLING SQEAK sound! 3 WEEKS OLD, bet he will be cock of the rooste when the real sound comes out.
