I thought I had all the predators in mind when I built my coop, but sadly didn't see this one coming!

I know how hard the next few weeks/months will be for both of you but just try to stay focused on what has to be done NOW. Hospice is a wonderful and helpfull group, so dont be afraid to ask them for whatever you need. As my Dad was goimg through this, God sent us an angel in the form of his hospice nurse! I will always be grateful for all the time I got to spend with him as his caregiver, and now that he is gone I have lots of very tender memories I otherwise would not have had. Life is full if hard choices, but please have faith in yourself that you are making the right ones! God bless you and your family!

x2!!! My family took care of my grandmother, mom, and Dad at home with Hospice's help. They are the BEST!! They are great listeners and will bend over backwards to help you. They have some pretty special people working for them.

God bless you, and never doubt for a minute that you've done the right thing.
Hopefully you can still steal some time away to visit your flock and see how they've adjusted.
Once you have reconciled that they are fine in their new digs, you can focus on keeping your new "flock" safe and secure.
Elderly parents are a gift... Dad is the youngest of five children and all of his siblings are gone. Mom was the oldest, and has three younger siblings still with us, but at 88 she is really feeling the years lately.
Seeing to their needs is a full time job, which is split among two daughters and two sons, all of whom check on them daily and contribute to their well-being.
When this current stage of your life is finished and you have time again for yourself, you'll get back to raising chickens, as they are very fulfilling - but knowing you did what was needed for our folks.
