I thought I knew... now I'm not so sure!

The hackles on a male are generally pointier feathers, females are rounded. If you look at the tips of the feathers growing in around the back of the neck, you should be able to see some pointier looking feathers on the roo. That's what I typically look for when I can't tell by anything else. Though I'm no expert, it does help. It's still hard to tell this young though.

very interesting... I will hold out a little longer and see how it goes. I will post some pics when they are 8 weeks... that will be just over a week from now I think and we'll see what you all say then

The B&W is male I think. My dad has a roo that looked just like him or did but, is older now even with green eyes. I can put a photo up if you wish
to perhaps give you an idea of what he might look like.
