I thought I was hearing things... a crowing hen?

Our little rosecomb bantam hen Rosie had even flown to the top of our house to crow. She's definitely a girl, she used to lay eggs, she went broody, hatched 2 chicks, mothered them, kicked them out of the little flock, and went back to crowing. Sounds like a cat strangling, says DH.
 
Here's my girl Allison. At least I hope she's a girl. She's the barred rock.

So much for listening to the gal at the feed store. I thought something was up because the legs are slate/gray. I'll have to get rid of him; $350 fine for having a roo in city limits.
