My silkie has been laying for awhile but, quote, she stopped abruptly at 5 months.
Is a year now.


I'm wondering if "she" is a "he" now.

Have you seen him/her mount or try to mount another chicken? Are you even sure it laid an egg? You hen could possibly be egg-bound which in most cases they not survive..
