I have 2 silkies hens and 1 pekin hen. Both of my silkies have started being SUPER loud in the morning around 7:30am every morning. This has been happening for a good 2 weeks now and I can’t seem to stop it happening. I live in a cul de sac so I need a solution before I really annoy the neighbours

Are they laying? Were you feeding them at 7:30 and then changed your schedule? Has anything else changed in the last couple of weeks (i.e. got a new dog, predator attacked, added lights, etc.) What does your set up look like and are they restricted in the coop at that time, or do they have access to run/yard space?

They have access to their run all the time, the only thing that’s changed is their grass, they have churned it all up. I have to use corn or to let them physically in the garden to quiet them

So they just want to go out to the garden and go where they can find food.
If you add an automatic pop door on the run that opens at 7.30 (or earlier if days get longer) the noise problem will vanish.

I don’t know if this is the best solution bc I have no idea how safe it is in your garden.

Yep they want out! Mine do the same thing early in the morning after the rooster has done his crowing..the girls make a ruckus until I come out and feed them and let them out into their run..I really think they want out in the run to scratch around more then eat, because they take a few bites, and start with the digging/scratching. Also they do egg songs in the morning if they lay early!
