So the my tom has been here for about a month now and when I first brought him home he and my bbw fought the first day, then things settled down. Well then she went broody the past couple of days and hadn't come out of the pen. I took her eggs away because I was fairly sure they weren't fertile. So she came out and the tom was strutting around and she went over to him and I thought maybe a mating would occur. Yeah right, she starting making her turkey noises and fluffing all up and cornered the tom and tried to beat him up. She then proceeded to chase him around the yard. I don't get it. *sigh*

They are just being turkeys. Some people say they are flock animals but if you watch them long enough you will start to see they are more like pack animals (like dogs and wolves) or street gangs even.

I just let them do their thing and before you know it they will have it all sorted out. When you took the eggs away the hen was upset because of an empty nest, they will go after anything close and your tom fit the profile.
