I want a cabinet incubator -- suggestions?

A year ago I didn't have one incubator and thought the hatching egg craze was silly. But I wanted a certain breed and asked a friend to hatch for me. Instead, she loaned me one of her incubators. I had a great hatch and later bought that incubator and 2 more.

Needless to say, I'm hatch addicted. I have several breeds now and a project planned, and I want to have regular hatches going. I rely on broody silkies and BOs when I can, but they just aren't all that predictable.

I'm looking into cabinet incubators. I really don't want to build anything that requires me to wire electricity. Not a good thing.

Do you have any suggestions for cabinet incubators that are quality without being ridiculous in cost?

Yeah a cabinet bator would be nice. Want one myself, but the wife would shoot me for spending that much money. So, I found a free fridge and am in the process of trying to figure out how to make one myself. I have decided to put three egg trays in it, each with its own auto turner so I can stagger hatches. Put a hatcher in the bottom and the heat source, fan and water at the top. My problem is I am NOT an electrian, so I am going to have to get some help on regulating heat. I could buy pass all this if only I could find a small cabinet bator (even used) that works well for a not so big pricetag. Maybe after I make my first Million dollars it won't be a problem to buy one.

I have a sportsman and it is wonderful just plug it in and keep the water full, i would reccomend getting the hatcher also if it's in ones budget, I did not know it was in my our budget untill my husband ask why i did not get the hatcher also, so i ordered the hatcher the next week

The auto humidity bucket is Junk

This would basically combine my 3 Styrofoam incubators into one place. I don't need all the bells and whistles of a Sportsman and the like. Can't afford it anyway. But this design might be right for me. What do you think?

Unless you build your own or buy an antique I believe your choices come down to a GQF or a Dickey. Quality seems comparable for either one. They come with various options that affect price which seems to be comparable to each other.

I'd go with the Dickey myself. It's expensive, but you might be able to buy one used, and you have to remember that's it's being made by an American here in America, and he's available to help you with any problems you might have.

You can't say that for a lot of stuff that you can buy nowadays!
