I want Blue Ameracauna Hens

I recently hatched white, black and blue true Ameraucana chicks. I want to Breed for the blue. Is it better to have the rooster black or white over a hen that's black or white or does it even matter? I know that there will be a percentage that are blue, black, white and even splash. I just want to do this right and need to know who to keep and who to sell. Thank you.

Either keep all blue, or just blue and black. Don't use white, you don't know what colors/patterns it's hiding. If you want whites keep them separate.

Here is what you should get on average when breeding blue, black and splash.

black x blue = 50% black, 50% blue

blue x blue = 25% black, 50% blue, 25% splash
blue x splash = 50% blue, 50% splash

splash x splash = 100% splash
splash x black = 100% blue

Have another question regarding this new knowledge. These eggs/chicks all came from a breeder who has a white rooster and all the hens are white, black and one blue. Am I already screwed? I know nothing about chicken genetics.

I think Chicken Boo Boo is calling splash, "white", in which case if you cross splash and black, all the chicks will be blue. Breeders that show blue Ams say the best lacing in blues is from crossing 2 blues, so if you want to follow that, then keep only blues and sell the blacks and splash in each generation.

I actually have both white and splash. I'm hoping they are a dominant white instead of recessive although I know this is rare. The chicks were very yellow. I think I'll keep the white seperate from my blue, splash and black. I'm trying to figure this all out so I can breed true. The breeder I bought from had two white Roos, 16 white hens, one blue hen, one black hen and 2 splash hens.
I only hatched one blue, one black, 5 white and the rest are splash. Any advice is most welcome. Thank you.
