I want chicken and live in goodyear Arizona

Hi my name is Elle and I want to have chickens and live in goodyear Arizona. I actually live on the edge surrounded by fields and farms but I do have an Hoa. Any kind of advice or info would be so appreciated. What is the best way to get or find definitive info regarding if I can have chickens and if so how many. Chickens are so fun and I loved having them when we lived in buckeye. Thanks in advance!!

I live in Peoria. I had to look up the restrictions for chickens for my HOA. Look in the CC&R's for your particular development. In the city of Peoria we can have 10, but they cannot be in a run all day, they have to be free range to cut down on the smell. My CC&R's say I can't have an animal that is smelly or annoying--that is subject to interpretation, but it does not outright say "no chickens."

Thanks so much! That’s pretty much what mine says. It says clear as day no roosters or animals that vocalize but nothing about chickens. As long as they are considered pets. Thanks for taking the time to help!
