I want to convince my mom to get a chick but she doesn’t like 💩 . Theres no place for it outside. What can I do?

Welcome, you are here among animal loving supporters. Take the time to learn as this very well could be a future hobby and way of life. As part of your research, you will learn the needs of the chickens and being a chicken owner. Get the $ together, show her you are responsible, and this could turn into a joint venture. Good luck and have fun learning. Just a firm suggestion don't purchase and come bopping home with them without her permission.

Welcome! I too, like you, have always loved all animals. Folks are correct when they’ve said a chick shouldn’t be alone, nor should it be kept inside the home. You might see some interesting scenarios where people keep chickens inside wearing diapers. That is not normal in the sense that’s how they prefer to live. The other consideration to be aware of is the dust they produce could become harmful to humans indoors after prolonged periods of time. If you have any other questions, please do ask. Some of the folks are a little harsh in their replies because they are passionate about 🐓. Not an excuse, just sharing my thoughts as to why sometimes you’ll see responses like those.

I told her If I get the money for all the needs would she let me, she said yes but she doesn’t seem very enthusiastic about that. ( she has rescued a chicken from the road before and she loved it but it lived outside.)
Welcome to BYC! I’d agree with JacinLarkwell.

I waited over 10 years to be in the right place to start a flock.
I waited 40 years!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I'm sorry but I'm in the same place as the rest. It is not fair to the chicken to be forced to live indoors and without a flock.
Ditto Dat!
