I have had chickens for a few years now. Recently I decided I would like to pursue my hobby further and begin breeding for exhibition.
I would like to breed bantams can anyone suggest a breed? I want something docile and friendly.
Also can anyone give me some tips on where to start?
Thanks in advance

First thing I would consider is what kind of space and penning options do have now and what kind of expansion can be realized. You can expect to raise a lot more birds than are actually shown as most will not meet your specifications so will need to be dealt with in some manner. Ultimately you are going to want more than one breeding group and multiple brooders and finishing pens. Then you may also need pens that can hold show birds singly. Breed considerations are not my strong suite.

A lot will be hatched, many will be eaten, very few will show.

If you do not have a stone cold heart you will not be successful. There are no favorites or pets. Average life expectancy is less than 2 years. If the breeding stock hasn't produced superior offspring in that amount of time the breeding program is flawed.
