I got a new incubator, a Magicfly 12 egg automatic, and I wanted to try hatching and raising Button Quail by buying hatching eggs online. What are some tips to hatching and raising Button quail? Do they have any secial needs different from chickens? And suggestions or advice is welcome.

The basic care is similar. Food must be in tiny pieces and higher in protein. Water dishes need to be very shallow. I used chick waters that were filled with marbles to keep the chicks dry and from drowning. Hard boiled egg minced is a good source of protein for chicks and adults. I also use dried meal worms crushed. Game bird mash can be used but with only a few buttons it's cheaper to make your own. I've been using soaked dry dog food with some of my birds with success. Unmedicated chicken mash is alright as a base feed.

Ok. And what about housing? I want to keep them outside but I dont want to spend a gazillion dollars on somthing that might not be the best for them. Can they free range? Are they easy to tame?
They definitely can not free range. They are wilder than coturnix quail, but they can be tamed with enough time and effort. They require warmer temperatures. If you're going to keep them outside, they may need some extra heat during the winter.

Consider Japanese cortunix quail instead of buttons; care is the same but Cortunix are more suited for the outdoors.
Ok. And what about housing? A screen/wire cage-small screen or hard floor. a roof with plenty of give to it as quail frighten easy and will fly straight up and hurt themselves with a roof that does not give. I want to keep them outside but I dont want to spend a gazillion dollars on somthing that might not be the best for them. Can they free range? No. Are they easy to tame? No, not in the sense that other species do. They will become friendly enough to eat from your hand.
