I want white eggs!

I have a Blue Andalusian hen that has been laying gorgeous White eggs steadily...I would have a whole flock of them. My hen is very sweet and follows me around the barnyard...with the other chickens! lol She would jump in my lap if I had a treat..

I adopted my leghorn from a local egg farm and her eggs are ginormous! Bigger than the ones from that farm are at the store, which I find interesting since she came from their stock. She is super petite but lays the biggest eggs I get!

i will be looking for some leghorn pullets, any idea what hatchery is the best for this breed?

I got a blue leghorn named Stormy. She is my smallest and wierdest bird, but she is my best layer. She "dances to a different drummer" then the rest of my flock. She is also the best hunter of the bunch, a blackwidow eatin' maniac.

don't forget the Italian chickens Anconas they are very good at laying and they are very cheap to have as they don't eat as much.

Try an Ancona, Andalusian, Appenzeller Spitzhauben (mines halarious!), Dorking, Hamburg, Lakenvelder, Sicilian Buttercup. I have all but the Buttercup, which I'd like to get. Nice white eggs.

Lakenvelders also lay white eggs. They are quite shy.

I can hardly wait (about four months) for my white Leghorns to lay. They were hatched from Trader Joe's fertile eating eggs in the refrigerated section of the market. Three pullets and a cockerel hatched out of 24 eggs, two dozen costing me less than five bucks.

Usually white egg layers are not winter hearty, the only kinds I have here are Anconas and leghorns. Those are the two breeds that lay white eggs and can take a cold winter.

here is a pic of a trio of mine that I took up to a show. Anconas
