I just barely got the light working in my coop this year. Egg production has already dropped off quite significantly. How long should it take before they start laying again? It's been about 5 days and still only getting 1 a day.

BAWAHAHAHAHA! This is maybe the 5th time I have answered this same question today! Must be that time of year!

They could start back up in a few days, a few weeks, or the light could have no effect. The hens are individuals and will all react differently. ...Still, I'd say within 2 weeks.

I'd let them lay naturally. They will have slow times but will come around.

I don't know if Middle Georgia is any different but I still get 5 eggs a day from 7 hens. And I know each one does not lay every day. My wife say just wait till next week. We'll have less than 10 hours of light.
