Did you hatch them or purchase them somewhere? I could see that happening with a hatch but would hope things would have worked out better if purchased from a hatchery or store (that might be wishful thinking on my part).

They were an unexpected gift from my neighbor. He hatched them specifically for me with the contingency of me raising 2 turkeys for him. So, not only did I have to give back two beautiful birds that I fell in love with, I had to find new living (dinner) arrangements for my sweet roo's that I raised. Live and learn I tell ya, live and learn.

I've heard of people not getting true "straight runs" from hatcheries. They pick out the pullets they need for pullet orders but leave the extra males that haven't been specifically ordered in the straight run box.

I've heard of people not getting true "straight runs" from hatcheries. They pick out the pullets they need for pullet orders but leave the extra males that haven't been specifically ordered in the straight run box.

To clarify, it was one or two hatcheries that people were having the problem with. They figured it out by talking to other people who ordered straight runs from those hatcheries and no straight run order had more that 30% pullets.
