Yup, that's right. It was dusk. I was moving some fence posts I plan
to use tommorow for my garden when a bee the size of a silkie
stung me on my left hand, right above my thumb. It seems I had stumbled
accross a nest of what I believe were wasps. They swarmed and I ran.
I was only in shorts and shoes. Luckily the sun was going down and
I run fast when screaming like a girl. Only the one bee got me.

My left thumb is throbbing and my left forearm is a bit numb. I'm only a little
allergic to bees so I will live. I'm treating the sting with gin and tonic taken
orally.

I did take care of the nest. I hate to kill any creatures but they had to go.

Video please!!!!!

From personal experience, you might need to continually dose with the gin and tonic.... till bed time, just keep sipping......

Ya, I wanna see the running and screaming like a girl thing happening. Where's the video? Seriously though, I hope you made sure that the stinger wasn't still in there. I hope you said a quick prayer, for that bee sacraficed its life for our entertainment (if you got it on video that is)

Or are you saying a wasp isn't a bee?

Sorry all - No video. Next time I plan on getting stung I'll set up the camera.

Sounds like a yellow jacket. Benedryl creme works wonders. Along with the gin and tonic.
But I don't think I've ever seen a bee the size of a silkie. Were you treating the sting before it happened?
