I was told a funny incubation story and it gives me hope. lol.

When I was a little kid, I found some duck eggs that had been washed away by irrigation. I put them in a fuzzy, knitted hat under our free standing wood stove where it was warm. About 10 days later, after my dad told me that they would never hatch I cracked them open.

Two had LIVE 1/2 developed little ducks in them.

Another couple of weeks for the summer heat to set in and I could probably do that too. I'm already turning the brooder lights off during the day because it gets too hot in there if I don't.

This week I ended up with more hatching eggs than my two broodies can manage. I was seriously thinking of putting them in a box in my car and letting the Florida weather do the rest.....

I ended up borrowing an incubator that I will be starting up Wednesday. It does worry me that the hatching eggs I got for a friend that will also be going in were just sitting in the blazing sun during and entire swap - hope they didn't already start to develop!

Sure, rub it in!!!! I wish we had blazing sun here, just for one day! lol. I went to a swap on Saturday, it was so cold my glasses kept fogging up from my breath. It is so cold and windy right now. And rainy!!!

Twice I had a 3-6 hour power outage during incubation and both times I got 20/20 hatch! It makes me wonder if power outages help because with the same incubator I normally get 15/20 to 18/20 a hatch...
