Hens can have spurs too.

Thats why I specified for males.

Never said females couldn't.

Varies between breeds. Most commonly spurs start between 5-6 months, & are fully pointed at a year, or two.

Yes. For mine, his gets grown in 1-2 years.

I’m really hoping the store owner is right. I’ve just never seen a pullet try to jump on another hens back.

If it's mounting..... It's a cockerel unfortunately. I must of missed that. My (was AnnaBella) Timin was trying to mount one of my hens at a little older than two months old. I thought for sure he was a she, but when I heard a crow, and it didn't appear to have come from my Nightfall, and he was quickly getting bigger than my Shiloh, I knew something was up. I found a nice home for Timin on Craigslist.
