I have one White Leghorn that has been laying for about a week now. She always layed in the mornings when I was busy with the kids, and I would find the egg later in the morning. This morning I let the kids play outside while I cleaned the run. Every once in a while I would peak in the nest to see how my layer was doing. The last time I checked her, she was standing up a bit and making a tiny little squeaking noise, I was worried for about 10 seconds that something was wrong and then out flopped the egg!! It was the biggest egg she's layed so far and she must have had to work extra hard for that one. But what an exciting moment to observe in person!!!!!!
