I went to a farm and came back with

They're nigerian dwarfs and yesterday we went and picked up twin nigerian dwarf/kiko mixed doelings. So now there are FOUR out there bleating for momma to come hand feed them.

I don't expect show goats, I just wanted healthy babies for pets and brush clearance - man the Kiko mixes go to town... yay. Both homes tested, vaccinated and wormed their goats and the care they got was obvious.

The doelings are mostly white with red in them.

I've already rerigged some of the stuff in the area, seeing the way the buggers climb. They don't like the hot fence much, so that's working.

They are very cute. None of my nigis have spots. Yours are so beautiful.

Dont forget the free choice hay!

I give each of my nigerians a cup of feed a day, morning time~
Free choice hay all day~
minerials(loose) and baking soda!!

Make sure you worm every month! Very important , they can die from worms. AND NO CHICKEN FEED! Gives them bloat, danger danger!

Snacks we give them hibiscous flowers, tree clippings, animal crackers(snacks people, snacks)

They hate dirty water and to get get, lol

Their horns will get you~ lol

And enjoy them, i love mine! They are dorsal striped

Hay at night, day is called browsing. They get pellet morning and evening, especially the kiko babies look a little under fed.

Going to ask my farm vet about using the ivomec I have to worm them this month but want to confirm dosing of 1 %. Taking the boys to have the vet make sure the previous owner did the whethering right. Something worth making sure over, so I'll ask then.

They've a ton of browse right now - 1/4 acre of kudzu, so that's very high protein to add to all the berries, rose and small trees and weeds. Kudzu is why there are goats here. LOL because the next major fence in is three acres of Kudzu and blackberry.

They'll be both busy and full...

For a decade...

Sigh

Beautiful boys! Congrats!

I swear our state (GA) should invest in goat herds to clean up the kudzu, it's the only thing that works!

I dose 1% ivomec orally at 1 cc per 22 lbs, which is something like 4x label directions.

Thanks Helmsted, that's a dose twice what we do for the dogs, easy to remember...

I'll get up goat girly pics later - they're cute but the light wasn't good.
