i will like to prevent sick chicks

what can i give to my baby chicks to prevent illnest, something easy to give them,i hear put some garlic in their water,i was wondering if garlic will help them for sicknest

Just like there is no one thing to prevent all illnesses in humans, there is no one thing to prevent all illnesses in chicks. The most important things are to provide appropriate food (you may want to start your chicks on medicated feed) and clean, fresh water. You want to keep them at the appropriate temperature when they are young and provide safe housing.

well these are not my first babies, but i change water probably 9 or more times a day ,only grains and chicken feed, but i notice that they dont eat much like other babies that i had before, they are a week old

I have the chicken health handbook, garlic is listed to use in food or water( garlic powder) for colds. Giving them medicated feed for chicks and adding vitamins/ electrolytes to the water is your best bet. Keeping them warm and out of drafts.
