I found a wonderful man that will take peoples unwanted roos.
He has a huge farm and the more the merrier he says.
I am between Dayton and Cinncinati an you can contact me if interested.
i was soooo glad he took my sweet little roo!!

Yeah it sounds like your sweet little roo is probably going to make a good meal with some mash potatoes and vegtables.Anyone wanting alot of roos is probably auctioning them off or cooking them for dinner.

Do not be sooo negative guys!!!! I gave 9 roos to a man with a horse farm. He was using them to clean up after the horses. They spread the manure around and eat the undigested grains. With only roosters he didn't have to worry about gathering eggs and without a hen there wouldn't be much fighting. He is a local farmer and I have to go by his place at least once a month. Guess what? They are all still there!!!

Not everyone eats your unwanted roos.

I hope this guy doesn't eat them. I hatched 4 mixed chicks and I'm thinking two of them are roos, maybe three. So I would like them to go to a good home. They are very pretty too!

That makes me feel better. Thanks!! he has them all over so maybe he does the same thing.

I've a roo who needs to find a new home! He's just started crowing. It's pretty funny actually. But I can't have a roo.

My husband made a good point earlier this afternoon though. He said though the roo is loud, he's not as obnoxious sounding as the multitude of dogs that surround us! And I'd have to whole-heartedly agree!

Anywho. I'm just east of Dayton area.

Well let me know if you want to give him to this guy. I don't think he kills them because he has chickens everywere!!!! He just lets them all free range and there are babies everywere. I think my roos are going to love it there. there are so many hens i think they will be very happy!!!

I keep most of my roos here on the farm. Sell some and trade some but end up with extras. I have a barn with turkeys and guineas and they share it with the roos "bachelor boys".
I have a few yard ones that have to be put in their own cage each night. One big guy sleeps in my basement and waits fo me to let him in and out each day!
A good roo has way more personality than 5 hens!!!
They do not earn their keep so to speak but it is relaxing to sit out in yard and have a few of them sharing the shady spot with you!

My favorite is the banties... They do not fight and tear each other up as badly as the big ones do. I have a separate barn for them and they have enclosed yard to free range in. And they have lots of hens to share it with..
Maybe my approach is different to raising chickens? I do it for the pleasure and enjoyment of them....
And yes I do eat chicken, it comes from Walmart and says Tyson on the bag!
