I wish it was easier to go to a user's profile

I dont always want to subscribe to an user. I just want to be able to add everyone I choose to a list, open the list everyday and view the users which I added to the list who are on/offline. Then choose to message them, or go to their profile. It just seems kinda hard to find a particular user without subscribing or typing their name into search every time (or find a forum you know they frequently post on, because its tricky to always remember their names). If we had a list we could add users to without having to subscribe, I think it'd be highly used!

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but...

On your profile page is the option for lists. Under your signature. Way down there at the bottom of the page.
Couldn't you save the user name there with a link to their profile?

And in the individual forum drop down is an option to see who's on line. You could have a link to that as well.

yes something like saving the link like you suggested, but I wish you could add them to a list with one click, then I could click on the list as soon as I get online and it will show which one of my friends are online and which ones aren't. I could do like you suggested, but i wish it was more simple (user friendly for everyone). I just thought a feature like this could help the site expand

Now, I just had to check it out and...

You can follow a member by clicking on their username and then follow member. It then adds them to a list on the right side of your profile page. Just below the public message.
I just "followed" you and redhen. You being on line had a green dot next to your name; red is off line so there was no green dot.
