I'll miss getting double yolks from young hens, but I absolutely won't miss searching for hidden clutches of eggs. Thankfully I noticed that my olive egg girl hadn't left an egg in the nesting boxes for four days so we knew to look. I was still getting about 10 eggs a day in the boxes, we just have a lot of new layers. Last month the hidden clutch was under the raspberry bramble (aside from the one hen that decided to sneak off to go broody and show up with 4 chicks).

New hens are awful mothers. She barely stayed with them for four days and let them raise themselves in the coup.

Four days? Wow, I've had some awful mother hens too, but at least they lasted a few weeks. Thus, since three times in a row we had to raise their babies, I gave up and incubate the eggs now. We sell the vast majority anyway.
