I would like some advice on ordering baby chicks

When you place your order with Ideal tell them No Roo's for warmers. I had an order that required extras and I specified I did not want roo's so they sent two barred rock pullets. They will really go out of their way to please you.

Why not just order 25 chicks? You may loose some and end up with less than you want anyway. And can keep the best ones out of the bunch. Pullets are not hard to get rid of.

And if you get roos, not to be mean, but use them for what roos are intended to be used for.

It looks like Ideal has everything that I am looking for. The min order is $20 and I will definitely specify no males. I love roosters, but with a toddler and close neighbors I will avoid them for now.

Chickadee, look at the pictures on the Ideal site. They usually have picture of what the chicks are going to look like. That knocked my socks off when I placed my order.
