Upright or on their side.... that is the question... i bought some hatching eggs and they arrived with rather bad air cells some detached completely, some not fully detached but jiggly and certainly move a good way to the side, I rested the eggs for 24 hours and put them in the incubator, having done some research on bad air cells, (first time incubating shipped eggs) I have set them upright (pointy end down) in their own individual cups (egg tray cut down with holes in the bottom for air circulation) I didnāt turn them for 3 days then I have been tilting and slightly twisting them at opposite angles 3 times per day since, things donāt look good, I have 2 ... possibly 3 that are developing as they should and the others were clear or have developed a blood ring. My question is do I continue to incubate them upright like this? I have to open the incubator each time to turn them (each time causing temps and humidity to fluctuate )
Or do I set them on their side and hope for the best? .. (my incubator automatically turns eggs on the side) So I could leave them be so to speak with a more constant temp and humidity with less handling. What are your experiences with detached/saddle/jiggly air cells? Did you incubate on the side or upright and did any hatch?
