Hello! Today we received a shipment of baby chicks that were supposed to be a "rare breed assortment" and I am wondering how many "rare" easter eggers I happened into. We ordered 15 and got 2 Egyptian Fayoumi, 2 Dark Brahmas, 5 Cochins (2 blue, 3 partridge), 2 welsummers, 1 salmon faverolles...and these 3 chicks. The possibilities are:

  • Buckeye
  • Ancona
  • Easter Egger
  • Ameraucana (Wheaten, Blue, Black, Splash)
  • Black Sumatra
  • Andalusian (Blue, Black, or Splash)
  • Appenzeller Spitzhauben
  • Sicilian Buttercup
  • Salmon Faverolles
  • Golden Campine
  • Buff Chantecler
  • Wyandotte (any plumage, incl. Blue Laced Red, Partridge, Silver Laced, Columbian, etc.)
  • Barnevelder
  • Brahma (Buff Brahma, Light Brahma)
  • Marans (Silver Cuckoo, Golden Cuckoo, Black Copper, Blue Copper, Blue Splash, White)
  • Delaware
  • Dominique
  • Dark Cornish
  • Cochin
  • Welsummer
  • White Sultan
  • Polish (Assorted colors)
  • Exchequer Leghorn
  • Speckled Sussex
  • Hamburg (Assorted colors)
  • Lakenvelder (Silver, Golden)
  • Partridge Penedesenca
  • Jersey Giant
  • Blue Orpington
  • Silver Grey Dorking
  • Egyptian Fayoumi
  • Black Langshans

I'm pretty sure on 1-2 of them being EE, but one (chick 2) is throwing me a bit, as well as chick 1. I'm wondering if those two chicks are possibly partridge penedesenca. I'm 99% sure chick 3 is an EE. I would love some input!

Thank you!

I have an 8 week update and I think I have 3 exotic Easter eggers, but would appreciate opinions.

Chick 1 (thought to possibly be Sicilian buttercup)

Chick 2 (thought to be partridge penedesenca, almost certain she is an EE because of her beard and muffs)

Chick 3 is for sure an ee.
