IA (incubators anonymous) September Hatches?

I'm sorry, I had to get in there because I've been turning my barnyard mix eggs by hand. Plus I was just REALLY curious if any had started developing during shipping.

I hope you do too! :fl How many of the eggs are you able to candle well? The Ameraucana eggs are kind of hit or miss whether or not I can see in them, and I can't see in any of the Marans eggs (they'll be Olive Eggers). All of the bantam Ameraucana eggs candle nicely though.

That's great! @KikiLeigh02 (also known as "my enabler," lol) I have been fighting to NOT candle until Day 7. But, since I saw your post, I had to! I just started the turner today, too, and candled them from the top without removing them. Some veins, but more in line with 2-3 days, not the 4 days development that you are seeing. I so hope to get at least 7 or 8 out of this batch of 14! :fl

I am wondering, the little girl in my avatar hatched from a green "mystery" egg. She has clean, yellow legs. Is there any indicators that will show whether she is an EE or an OE, other than waiting for her first egg?

Lol. No comb?? It's barely there.

And her legs do have a bit of greenish tint.

Hey all. On day 17 and 14. Touched light to everyone while turning this am. Out of 9, 8 look amazing. My one VERY porous egg has quit sometime in the past 24 hours. It was a 14 day egg so no eggtopsy. I generally don't unless it's past day 18. But, still have the 8. Im not officially "locking down" until I hear an internal pip or until the older groups day 19. But I am candling for the last time tomorrow and setting the older eggs in hatch position and will turn the younger eggs once a day til Friday. They incubated side laying but are tilted slightly 20180829_052048.jpg since two days ago now in a sanitized plastic cut down carton. Only because I am not a fan of chick soccer lol
