Hello everyone!
I have had such a wonderful time raising these Icelandic chicks and I'm so excited to finally start to decipher who's a pullet and who's a cockerel. I've posted photos and my guesses below for each of them - if you think I'm off or you have a different opinion then please let me know!
1. This one I am actually the most unsure about - it's the smallest of the bunch and for some reason I just feel like it's a Roo but I may be completely wrong!
2. I believe this one is a pullet.
3. Same thing, fairly sure she's a pullet.
4. Definitely a Roo - it's funny because even in the first week I was sure this one was going to be a Roo - he just has that attitude!
5. An 'attractive' closeup of the second confirmed Roo of the bunch.
6. Fairly sure that brown girl is a pullet - this one actually has no cone formation yet at all and is the only one like that...maybe it'll turn out to be a sneaky Roo?
That is everyone - brought 6 home because I was told I should have "chicken insurance" and all six have thrived. We already have a flock of RIRs so these youngins will be joining them in a few weeks time.
Thanks for having a look!
