I have no experience with Icelandics. They are purebreds born May 12 (almost 9 wks old). I have a lot of V and pea combed birds with small wattles. These ones all have quite pink wattles and combs so I'm wondering what I've got.

Yikes! I got the hatching eggs from a friend. She breeds them and loves them. I'm hoping they are calm, friendly birds. If not, someone else can love them. The problem and the beauty with Icelandic’s is they have so many looks .... I really didn’t enjoy mine but they were beautiful. Just know if they start eating eggs , pecking at each other and flying at your face you’re not alone. I sold mine before I lost my mind ... they are beautiful though
I'm in Canada. These birds come from the Hlesey & Husatoftir lines imported from Iceland.Icelandics are a different kind of chicken. They need room to roam free. They are not cuddly birds and need to stay pure. They are very good at foraging and avoiding predators but do not like to be closed in. You really need to read up on caring for them. There are not very many pure lines left.Depending on where you are If you want cuddly I will trade you some cuddly silkies for them. Do you know where your friend got their line stock from? You will need to ask her if you don't. There are only two or three pure lines in the US.
