Ick factor

I guess at first I did, but now I think about store bought as ick. I still eat them, of course, but I totally prefer my own flock's eggs.

I wonder if there's a parallel line here with the "pets vs resource" mindset for our backyard friends. If you're thinking of them as pets, I can see it being more difficult to eat eggs or birds. But if you're thinking of them as a resource, much less of a challenge.
