Got this little guy at the local farm and feed store. Went for ducks and found him instead lol. They had him as pan fry just cause he's a rooster. Any idea what he might be?

I can't wait to see him all feathered up and pretty. I had bought 4 before thinking I bought 3 hens and a roo only to find out the roo was a hen lol.
Aww. I have 6 BRs right now and I'm hoping for at least one rooster but they all seem darker.:( I wish you luck with your new rooster!:D

I thought various breeds can be easter eggers though right? My farm and feed get quiet a few including amaracounas (or however you spell it.)

Easter Egger is a common name given to hybrid birds that carry the blue gene and can produce blue, green, brown or even white eggs. Ameraucana and Araucana are breeds that have breed standards that they have to follow. Kinda like having your lab retriever and your labradoodle... Labradoodles don't have a breed standard and actually don't breed true if you breed them to each other, same as Easter Eggers.

Ah okay I understand a bit better now. Thank you. This is only the first year of having chickens. 3 of my hens are Easter eggers too. The last hen is a barred rock
