I'd like to learn more about these chickens. Resources? Books?

So we've recently attained two Bantam chickens. They have a constant habit of scaring me and I'm unfamiliar with their respiratory issues or whenever they become egg bound. Both instances they've pulled through wonderfully however because I don't know much, during their emergencies I spend my time googling and learning on my feet when they are sick. I'd like to learn more about them and just be prepared whenever they are in trouble. I've had animals before but never chickens. Suggestions?

How do you know they have respiratory issues and/or egg bound issues? I've had chickens for 7 years and have never had either of those issues. (and I currently have over 50 birds) Did you purchase them and the person you bought them from said they were sick?
