Ideal 236 vs White Leghorn

Problem solved! I went with Olive Eggers. lol

I can get the OE's from Ideal doing mail, but my local feed store does not normally get any. They just get EE's. But every spring, they get Ideal White Leghorns, so my next ones can be White Leghorns from the feed store.

Chicken math clearly involves a bit of algebra!
Also irrational and imaginary numbers!

You should check with your store and see if they would let you order what you want. I did something similar with our local Atwoods (chain farm store). They order direct from Ideal and since Ideal is shipping to the store weekly, I didn't have to pay shipping as my birds came with the store order. Can't shake a stick at free shipping on 40 birds!

Excellent idea!

Question. If you order through the store is there a minimum order? Do you have to buy a bunch of birds or will they order a bunch and then you can just buy, say, half a dozen?

Does anyone have experience with both breeds that you could tell me if you favor one over the other, and why? I was going to add a Leghorn to my order from ideal, but I am intrigued by their 236, as the characteristics listed are the same, except the 236 is bred for resistance to Mereks.
I’m growing out 5 of each so I’ll let you know in 6 months or so
