Ideal comb for cold weather?

What would the ideal comb be for cold weather? I know dubbing is an option, but are their combs that handle winter better then others? Is this making any sense?

the smaller the comb the better , or you can use Vaseline on their combs to prevent frostbite

I guess my question is, do all combs get frostbite? Are there some that don't?

And i don't mean dubbed combs, Combs that can be left natural.

Single combs are least desirable for cold weather,

Pea combs are probably the best followed by Rose and Cushion Combs. My Wyandottes with Rose Combs have gone through -25 F nights in an unheated chicken coop with no frostbite.

Tight, small peacombs never get frostbite and rosecombs never get frostbite.

Agree. We get down to -30 and our barn isn't heated, of course. The tighter, smaller combs are the best.

I have many birds & two breeds one with single combs and one with Pea combs. The pea's all do very well in winter while the single combs catch heck during the hard cold.
