Ideal fertility rate before setting eggs

I have a question about incubating my own eggs:

This past weekend we culled one rooster, leaving us with 2 roosters and 12 hens. Before we culled him this past weekend, we had a fertility rate of 50%. I'm going to check again this weekend to see if there's any change in fertility now that we're down to 2 roosters. I'm hoping that culling him will increase our fertility rate because we have a better roostern ratio. But my question is, should I not plan on incubating until I get a 100% fertility rate?

You can incubate with any fertility rate, just figure in fertility rate in the number of eggs you start. Want 12 chicks = start 24 eggs.

Curious how you figured on less roosters would equal higher fertility, Normally MORE is the general rule.

Im surprised your fertility rate was so low with 3 roosters and 12 hens. When i had a rooster and 7 hens i had a 100% fertility rate. Maybe my rooster was just a little horny devil.

How do you know you fertility rate, by checking for the bullseyes when you crack eggs for breakfast?
