Ideal Hatchery...Helppp!

Okay, im looking to order some chicks from Ideal Hatchery but it says SOLD OUT UNTIL: 2009

Whats that supposed to meeann!!!??

Have you ordered from Ideal before??

I was NOT pleased with what I got from them when I ordered.

I ordered 10 of the "top hat special" which was sposed to be a variety of breed with top hats, I got 3 sultans, 3 white crested black Polish, 3 others were all different and then they threw in a CORNISH!! That was the "variety" 10 of the top hat special????

I ordered 1 Silver Phoenix roo which died in shipping (which was the ONE bird I REALLY wanted), and then some Cochins.

I was Not pleased at all.......

I have never orderd from a hatchery before.. So i guess this could be an expirimental procedure

Have yo checked other hatcheries?

I have heard good thing about Murray McMurray, there is also My Pet Chicken...I don't know much about them, but you could try them too maybe.

I was very pleased with Ideal and plan on ordering from them in spring.

On their website when it says sold out until 2009 means that they are not hatching anymore of that particular variety or breed until they start the spring hatching in February of 2009. However you can have them notify you via email when they start hatching the chicks again if you want. Just click on the breed or variety that you are interested in and it will redirect you to another page where you can register.
