Ideal Poultry question.

Foghorn, I'm so sorry I just noticed your question about types of roos for warmth. They did not designate, but at nearly 5 week's old, I have a deep golden yellow roo, looks like a buff orpinton but with a touch of grey/black on feathers, and maybe 2 roos of the same breed as the pullets, either Iowa Blues or Blue Hamburgs.

Hope this helps.

No prob! They look like leghorns. California whites. They added 13! One died unexpectedly a few days back. they are actually very friendly so far. And oh yes, the combs are showing!

I have ordered from Ideal, found them to be very helpful, and communicative.

These of course are hatchery birds and one should not expect show birds.

I didnt lost a chick out of 30 birds, they were all healthy and have grown well.
