Ideal Poultry sending "shipped" email?

Well, since I never got an email from anywhere saying my birds were shipped, should I assume that they likely won't be coming in tomorrow? Or how does that work?
I really appreciate the quick responses and all the help from you guys! It's really helping me a lot!!

I would assume they haven't shipped. If you don't get a wakeup call from the post office call ideal before heading off to school tomorrow and ask them what is up.

Ideal will put a heating pad in the box and not add peanuts if you ask. Their shipping is really cheap and for many locations nearby, even free.

A hard option for me haha
I leave for school at 6AM due to the distance I live away from school. I had intended on staying home from school tomorrow to get my birds set up properly, but I don't want to stay home if they don't actually come in. (It's not an issue for me to miss school since I can catch up on most of it online, and what I cant I already am a day ahead in.)
So I either stay home and call at 8 or just go and hope they don't get stuck at the post office overnight. (I get home at 5... When the post office closes.)

I am not sure about this but something in my brain says that Ideal ships out on Wednessdays. I think you are like most of us highly protective of your charges. If anyone can confirm or deny my recollections of"what I have read and remembered" it would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I for sure don't want to have wasted that money - I also don't want those birds to die in the post office, that would be awful. I keep my birds for pets and eggs and tend to get really attatched to them.
The lady on the phone said they would most likely be here tomorrow, but if not they would be in by thursday. With my luck I'll go to school and get an email or call they arrived right as I get there lol

Thankfully this is the time of year to send chicken by post in Texas. It isn't a frozen wasteland or a baked desert. I doubt your chicken will arrive stressed out at all!

That was the goal!! Thank gosh it's not so hot and the cold fronts have died down.

"SHIPPING DATES
During the months of February through May, IDEAL will be shipping poultry Monday through Wednesday. IDEAL hatches 52 weeks each year and most shipments will be made on Tuesday and Wednesday during the remaining months. "

I would check the map on USPS for the map of Priority mail. If you are in the 1 day zone then I would most likely count on them arriving today.
If IDEAL said they were shipped out yesterday, then they probably were.
I think IDEAL has info on their site about the shipping:

AIR PARCEL POST (PRIORITY MAIL)
Chicks can be safely shipped to all states and Puerto Rico by Air Parcel Post. For shipments to Texas (except zips 798-799), Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Missouri except zips 620 thru 635, there is no air parcel post charge. For all other states and zip codes add 20¢ per Chick, Bantam, Chukar,or Guinea, 25¢ per Turkey Poult or Duckling, and 32¢ per Gosling

So if you look on the USPS website and put in your zip and IDEALs zip code then it should have a map of how long Priority mail shipping usually takes.
If it says 1 day then you should plan on it arriving today.

Also note for future reference:
I signed up for USPS informed delivery through the website, so even if I don't have the tracking number it tells me that I have packages arriving, and shows me images of my mail pieces (not the packages of course) I will be receiving later that day.
It was through the USPS website, and all you have to do is open a free account, answer some questions to verify your identity, and go from there.
It has been really helpful so far.
