Um. . if you are really bad, what does that make me? I ordered 100 of them!
They came today, though and all the regrets went out the window. It's strange how a phone call at 6 am telling you to get up and go out into the snow and cold to get a noisy cardboard box can cheer you up! They are beautiful and life has meaning again.
I know that go's I was throwing the idea around since monday and finally ordered them, then right after all I could think about was "what did I just do" but I know as soon as I get them in I'll be reminded why I love bird.
I was worried about what sort of mix I would get but it worked out. Nice variety--they'll keep me guessing for a while. some are easy to ID, but some are going to be difficult. But on a winter's day it is good to have an excuse to look up things in chicken books
My order of 30 was to be delivered mid-next week but... alas, they had a delay on one breed so it's the next week now. But, one of my bantam Buttercups hatched two days early and is delightful! It was sitting quite neatly inside one of the cups on the egg turner enjoying the ride!
While I'll admit Ideal does have healthy chicks they aren't as good of quality as I would have liked. Which is why I intend to hatch my own from now on. Or at least try to. Again Ideal sent 25 chicks and not a one died or was doa. You'll be happy. So any friz people out there w/ eggs keep me in mind.
