JenS9, I couldn't track the shipment, as far as I know. Ideal sent me an e-mail on 5/7 -- the evening before the chicks were shipped -- stating that 5/8 was the ship date. It was just a waiting game till the phone call came in from the post office on 5/9.

Good to know. Sounds like I'll have to take a couple days off work next week so I don't get stuck in a situation where I have to leave the poor babies at the post office!

I believe the flights are scheduled so the chicks arrive first thing in the morning, when the trucks pick up at the airport. So, you may get a call at 7 or 7:30 am. You might be able to pick up your peeps and get them home and in the brooder with water and food, and still get to work. You may only need to take a couple of hours off from work, if that.

Oh, I work from home. It's just a matter of if I'll be awake enough/have enough energy to work after getting up that early. LOL. I'm not a morning person, at all.

I also can't cancel hours less than 6 hours in advance. Easier to just take the days off, and then pick up hours later if I want to.

That's good to know. I was probably too lazy to look into it for my shipment. lol
It only took a single day for my chicks to get here anyway, It was amazing ... Ideal shipped them out early in the morning on May 8, and they were at my post office early the next morning. I'm really happy with the way it worked out.

Okay... They didn't call me and looks like they put them on the truck.... Trying to figure out if I should be miffed or not.

Well... I found out why the PO didn't call me -- Ideal put my number wrong on the packing slip! I double checked my email receipt from when I ordered, and it was correct. All of my babies arrived in one piece though, so yay!
