Ideal Poultry!

Ideal is said to hatch 52 weeks a year, but judging by their site, they can't keep up with demand. Is there any time you can order decent variety of birds from them without having to waitlist most of it?

I ordered from Ideal Poultry as no where else could I find barred rock chicks this time of year. Lady was super nice and patient with me as I had not ordered before. I ordered 2 roosters and 8 hens figuring not all would make it here after being mailed. She said since it was such a small order and the weather was so cold and nasty they would put extra roosters in my order so the chicks would stay warm. ?! My wife is a trooper but what are we going to do with all those roosters? Don't think I could kill them so I guess there will be a sale when we can tell who's who between the ladies and the gentlemen. They should be here today!

Just back from the post office, got exactly what I ordered and seven golden, what are probably roosters, chicks that stand out from the barred rocks. Very healthy and eating and drinking. I am very pleased and now on "pasty butt patrol".

I have had two 20 chick orders from Ideal. I have never had even one chick with "pasty butt". First batch of chicks I grew out on chick starter. 2nd on fermented feed.

I'm sorry, the chicks are fine, no pasty butt. I meant when they get older. I'm going to catch is sooner than I did with the last batch. Called Ideal yesterday and found my seven bonus chicks are Buff Orpington roosters. Very pleased with Ideal.

Ordered 25 barred rock pullets on Saturday. They are due to arrive Thursday. I'll post pics when i get them. They were on special and this is my first purchase from Ideal.

we ordered 25 Large breed assorted pullets in March i believe it was, we didnt lose a single chick. myself and my paw inlaw split them, right now a little less than half of them are currently laying, every one in the batch was a pullet, very happy for no surprise Roo's. we just ordered 25 pullet Americaunas and since it is winter time they throw in free "warmers" which we have come to find out are little roos to add body heat during shipping. our order should be in this coming week, will update when they arrive, but so far have nothing but good opinions of Ideal
